As of today October 21, 2024, more than one year of what they call the war in Palestine against Hamas has passed and I hope the end of it is almost here. The framing of October 7th as the beginning of the war is both right and wrong. The war could be said to have begun in 1948 when Israel invaded Palestine and began their reign of terror and plunder. It could be argued that it started in the first turn of the millennium with the Crusades of the so-called Middle Ages. Continuous Israeli assaults on Palestinian territories and imposed apartheid on Palestinians preceding the gambit by Hamas and their now dead leader Yahya Sinwar is fundamentally warfare and terrorism on the part of Israel directly preceding retaliation on October 7th. The latest timeframe for the war (beginning Oct 7, 2023) is meant to highlight both the genocidal number of humans murdered by Israel, civilians (of various nationalities—non-combatants most of them); and frame the cause of this genocide as Hamas’s attack. I don’t believe the narrative that the war began on Oct 7th and that Hamas is to blame, nor that the responsible parties are genuine about caring for the victims. The moment now is another of genocide, white supremacy, land theft, and the worst of what humanity can do. It is good to extend sympathy for all those who are victims. Harder though to do what is needed to end the war, the massacre of Palestinians, and the expansion of Israel. It isn’t helpful to completely ally oneself with Hamas as an outsider to Palestine. Still, one must ally oneself with the Palestinian people and all victims of genocide and warfare because none of us are outsiders to state violence. And what is at stake for the state? An artificial homeland, a project for global domination, human degradation. The war is reaching its end stages and will have implications regarding how the people of the world will move forward against their governments.
Israel has been planning a fascist project since the beginning of the 1900s when fascist projects were burgeoning as a modern form of state domination and human subjugation. Fascism modernized domination with new weaponry, rhetoric, ideology, campaigns, and nations. Theodor Herzl is the notable writer of a Jewish-Fascist Manifesto in the same era as Mussolini. It is called The Jewish State published in 1896. In the book, Herzl laid out the plan for the creation of an ethnocentrist state for European-Jewish people in Palestine through colonization. The times of empire were dying for the projects of nation-building. Identities and nationalities were being concentrated into forms like the Whites, Aryans, Turks, etc. in opposition to other ethnicities that resisted homogenization and oppression like Black people, Gypsies, Kurds, Jews, and so on. The ideology of fascism is to limit human ecstasy, control human behavior, turn the masses into obedient unthinking workers and soldiers, and return all attention to a higher power of divine authority represented by the government. Nation builders in the 1900s created forms of government in which they gained complete authority over their citizens who would be reduced to slavish representations of the national identity. That is the case in Israel which has always been at war and has never had to lay in its bed of fascism without shifting blame to someone else.
The Jewish State which Herzl wrote about was realized later after WWI and WWII. Mandatory Palestine arose from the loss of the Ottoman Empire in WWII. The British Empire took over large swaths of land and turned them into white settler projects. Israel became a permanent settlement for British and White Supremacist interests. Meanwhile, other parts of Asia were converted to colonies or some other municipality. The British subjected Palestine to complete erasure and enslavement to Israel— an ally of the Western world.
The Western World/ White Man’s World used the opportunity of international support for Jewish victims of the Holocaust to orchestrate a violation of the rights of those who lived in Palestine by taking away their land and displacing them. Most of the displacement took place over time and through violent deception. Some Palestinians would help the Jewish people who would then turn guns on the Palestinians and kick them out. That is what happened to renowned Palestinian model Bella Hadid.
At this point, it is clear Israel is a new entity formed by Western Powers in violation of newly disenfranchised people who did not have a nation. By not having a nation or protector, beyond Britain, they had already lost all their rights as people. In that vacuum of rights all one has is their self-organization.
The Palestinian people organized resistance by protesting for democracy and forming armed militant groups for self-governance. Over the years, many Western efforts have led to the erasure of the story of Palestinian resistance and an attempt to legitimize the brand new fascist gang territory of Israel.
Today, it seems like Israel, through the face of Benjamin Netanyahu, is trying to complete the expansion of a fascist Jewish nation— one that many of its own citizens oppose. It looks as though there can be no victory for Israel and the West without tremendous violence. They aim to attack not only Palestine, but also Lebanon, Egypt, and various other parts of West Asia. A massive war in that region is imminent if Israel continues to try to establish its genocidal and murderous aims. Israel will need to continue hiding the truth and imposing blame on the opposition for the genocide. They will have to keep claiming self-defense despite expanding into other nations. It will not be a successful campaign, and Western Powers will have to explicitly be labeled with the identity of being the evil people they claim everyone else is.
Protesting has been strong here in New York City, but marginal in its intended effect. This heavy period of conflict comes at a time when I personally have been taking a break from leftist organizing because of the infiltration of leftist organizations in the city. For almost a decade, others and I have protested to advocate for the Palestinian people as well as other issues such as opposing mass incarceration, Black liberation, Puerto Rican Liberation, and so on.
The tension between the ruling class and the ruled class mounts but the solutions remain obscure. It seems like those in government and business have their plans for the world which include the planned death of civilians of every country. They are forming their own resources and alliances with each other as the ruling class, in opposition to us the civilian class who owns nothing; who has nothing. As a unit, we are completely disenfranchised. If they do not consider themselves in opposition to us, the people, it is because they do not consider us at all seeing how their actions are so harmful to us all. They think of us as objects of their will.
Civilians in these moments are weakened by the lack of civilian or grassroots gang organization. Gang organization in the struggle between people and their governments is very much fatal for everyone who is not being funded by American tax dollars. Russia is trying to expand its borders. So is China. The USA has been doing that for a long time. We are coming upon a decisive time in history when we cannot ignore the problems that every day slip into the most ordinary interactions.
Today, the Israel-Palestine conflict is getting weary. The world has decided what side to take. Increasing condemnation of Israel is developing which Benjamin Netanyahu may have to answer for the most. He is using the war to avoid accountability at this point. The war extends now with the excuse of the Hezbollah conflict. The region is in need of freedom from conflict with the Western World on a consistent level.
All the lies and hidden agendas of the ruling class to impose restrictive and deadly laws on people will come to light or else the people will perish. The way the USA is talking, they seek to humiliate, embarrass, and control all other parts of the world directly or indirectly; reducing places like Iran or Iraq to peons of the global powers. They make Saudi Arabia into a rich actor with their hands tied. Yemen is hurting. Africa at large is constantly being sabotaged and killed.
The conclusion of current global conflict will be messy, but it must be justified. It must be resolved in favor of the people rather than any current governing entity. We need a new vitalized project among civilians to decide what the world will be. It will take skill and fortitude to even make the new world a conversation. The English Language is too lazy; too anti-intellectual and arrogant. It is very sure of itself despite all of its limits. Let our issues make us stronger rather than more confused. Call the case! The people vs the government.
